WHAT the heck is PIYO?

I am Ga-Ga over PiYO. Totally Ga-Ga. I think it is the Triathlete’s dream come true. I think it completes our training table’s PIE chart (if you know what I mean!) 🙂 It is the missing link. And “yes”, I have the honor to share it with whomever wishes to better themselves, or their sport, or whatever their goal may be! You can find the product at; www.beachbodycoach.com/wandabamberger

Furthermore, it has changed my body, the way I train everyday, and the way I feel. I have coupled it with Shakeology as I love the fact that I get a supercharged dose of superfoods once a day. It has curbed my cravings, increased my energy, and helpes me feel better. But Let’s Answer Some of Your Big Questions. What the heck is PiYO?

 

*WHAT– PiYO is a combination of Pilates and Yoga. It is fast moving, it encompasses all the muscle groups. It is STRENGTH and FLEXIBLITY. It is a series of workouts on DVD’s, and included is a calendar which tells you which session to complete each day. The time frame is 60 days, and the sessions range from 20 minutes- 35 minutes (there are a few 45 minute ones).

*WHY- To change your body. To get a LOT done in a tiny amount of time. There are some main components which make it SO awesome.

*MAIN COMPONENTS ARE:

1. The MUSCLES it TARGETS in both STRENGTH and STRETCHING: CORE and TRICEPS: Holy moly- totally targets these muscles, which are CRUCIAL for triathletes, swimmers. LATERAL MOVEMENTS; forward plane athletes (those who run, swim, bike, train in only forward plane) NEED all the lateral movements incorporated in PiYO. It has CHANGED the way I Mountain Bike, the way I SWIM, and the way I RUN. OH, and it’s chiseled over 2 inches from my waist!

2. TIME– it is so hard to make time for the important strength and flexibility portions or our training schedule. This is a small time commitment 6 days a week, that you can do when it is convenient for YOU. DVD’s people!

3. FLEXIBILITY: it will quickly hone in on your tight spots. You have no choice but to feel this!! So if you have tight hip flexors, ITB, shoulders, etc you will immediately start feeling how this stretches you out. What does a more limber body do???? It RACES FASTER. It FEELS better. It is FLUID.

That’s the short of PiYO. I tried it. I do it. I’m committed to it. I LOVE it.
